i have an 07 gt and i recently put on SLP Loudmouths, sounds AMAZING... BUT (i know it isnt related..i hope) but when my car is cold i am getting a rattle from the front end like a loose heat shield, i know i dont have one so it rules that out as a possiblility, i am kinda nervous... it starts rattling around 2500 rpms and then goes away around 3... it completely stops once my car is COMPLETELY warmed up... also when i get on my car on the highway and am about to come to a complete stop i hear a loud winding noise, i depress the clutch, it doesnt stop, i speed up it gets louder, i rev and it doesnt get louder. i realize it is somewhere in my breaking system or ball joints or something. it stays with the wheel speed not engine speed. any ideas? anyone had this happen??

Did you just have the mufflers put on, or a mid pipe too? (Because you say you don't have a heat sheild on a new car, I'm guessing you put an o/r pipe on.)
I'd check that nothing ahead of the mufflers came loose during the install. Obviously you'll have to crawl under and rattle stuff around before the car heats up. If that's it, it must be a very small amount of movement if it goes away after the car heats up.

The 2nd problem: Being that it's an 07, I'd say just take it to the dealer -- that's what your warrantee is for.....

Take it to the dealer if you are sure it's not the exhaust. It could be something in the engine that goes away when warmed up

take off the loudmouth before...lol

I want to leave the loudmouth on lol

They may void an engine warranty if the rattle is engine-related due to having the exhaust on the car. All depends on how the service manager feels that day.

If you are sure it's not the engine and something else, then you can leave it on. The service manager may note the exhaust though for future reference. If you ever have a prob with something engine or exhaust related (one cat decides to destroy itself) they will see the car had an aftermarket exhaust and may void the warranty. Then you gotta fight it with the magnusson-moss act.

Welcome to the fun world of warranty work on a modified car.

lol...mustang5L5 is right...just save urself the hassle and swap it back to the original one...

Untrue. We only void warranty (for that repair) if the part that failed is caused by the aftermarket part. For instance, we will fix a motor noise, even if the car has exhaust, unless the exhaust is somehow found to have caused the motor work. I have paperwork from Ford that states this.

So in other words, make sure that the noise isn't coming from the exhaust and bring it in.

I owned a 2006 GT and had the exact same rattle. I though it was the heat shield and spent many hours trying to figure it out. It turns out it is the dust shield. I unbolted it and put a rubber gasket around it and tightened it up again. The noise went away immediately and forever.
