diecast. Long overdue for a cobra diecast. After seeing Ed's pretty impressive collection of cars the other day I need to get back to collecting them again. Moved around to much the last few years. Next I think I'm gonna have to get me a 93 Cobra.

Posted by: Mustang5L5

I'm waiting for a black 5.0 LX.

I've already got the rare SVO's Each is 1 of 1500 made

Posted by: Jarhead46

I see the SVO's everywhere now, on ebay for $22 or so. I'll get one soon. I think I'm gonna buy a new one every month

Posted by: LILBLKSNAKE

I want a black 93 COBRA, but I only buy the expensive ones at Christmas for myself!!!

Posted by: Jarhead46

Isnt there a website that you can send them a pic of your car and they will build your car diecast?

Yeah, you mean these

http://cgi.ebay.com/1986-Mustang-SVO...QQcmdZViewItem

They aren't made by GMP who made mine. These are knockoffs

Posted by: Mustang5L5

This is bad ass!!

Posted by: Jarhead46

I'm gonna buy either one of those or the 93 cobra

Posted by: Mustang5L5

They have a ton of nice ones out now.

Still waiting for a black fox saleen though

If they come out with a notchback thats the same color as that GT convert I will buy it in a second. Was my first car. Also would like to see my 89 GT color. Not even sure of the name was that light blue and had grey ground affects

Like this??

Posted by: Jarhead46

Where did you get that!!!!! I want, thats my first car. Even has the porno red interior. Also is that 99-00 GT convert the same color as my car?

Posted by: Mustang5L5

It's one of the first GMP Mustangs. It came out around 2000 i think?? It's 1 of 2004 made so might be tough to find one one. It's an 87 model.

The red GT isn't performance red. It's a little darker but It's close to the right color. The 2000 R is performance red and next to the GT you can see the difference. Alone though the GT would pass as your car. There is a hardtop version of it. It's made by Miasto if you want to search around.

Posted by: Jarhead46

Just found the notch for $110. I will get it soon.

Ed just wants to make you jealous by dangling it in front of your face every day. I can't let him do that. I'm keeping it

Posted by: Jarhead46

You suck Ed

Basically.....but without Ed, like would be dull. Ed makes the sun come up in the morning and the birds sing and the stars twinkle. Ed is special

Dont make his ego any bigger than it already is please

Posted by: LILBLKSNAKE

All three of you are starting to worry me. I might have to deprive you of my royal ED-ness for a while if you're going to all turn butt-pirate!!!

Posted by: Jarhead46

My new Roush diecast, Ed and I found this pretty cool diecast store in Taunton the guy has everything, and if he doesnt hell order it for you.

Posted by: Pony-Up

Here's a couple of my collection including the 05 that I have made look like my real one! Same Wheels, Tires, upgraded interior and I even shrunk my license plate!

Posted by: Jarhead46

That is awesome, how did you do that? For my car would just have to put Saleen wheels on it, and put a vet plate on it

Posted by: Pony-Up

I took pictures of my license plate and printed them super small until I got to the scale I wanted (turned out to be about 1/10). turned out to be pretty easy. This car also didn't have the front license plate. That came from a 67 Fastback donor. I found the red interior and dash upgrades in the shelby that is on the shelf beside it and a convertible donor. I took the wheels from another car. Painted all the details and added the white stripes which is car pinstripping (took several locations to find the right widths for the three needed stripes). Finding the wheels was pretty hard, let alone tires that were the BFG G-Force that are on my car! Plan to hack up a couple hoods and see if I can get an old shelby scoop set together. Let me know what the wheels look like and I'll see if I have anything that matches.

Look at my sig, there just Saleen replicas. Thats a pretty good idea with the license plate though, just ned to find my color diecast in a coupe which I havent seen.

Posted by: Mustang5L5

Well if you want to start pirating parts, you can take wheels off the AutoART Saleens and find a Miasto red GT coupe and see if you can put them on.

Scroll up and take a look at my pic and look at the Saleen in the box. It's got your Saleen wheels on it, but not chrome. A little chrome paint can fix that if you really want

Posted by: Jarhead46

Well see thats what sucks, I want a saleen diecast so in order for me to do this, I would have to buy 2 saleens and a GT coupe, and hell 2 Mach 1's need the mach 1 grill delete. So looking at around $250 in diecast and two of them would be useless after I steal there parts

Posted by: Mustang5L5

The mach 1 delete doesn't come off the car lol. It's not a real car where you can just unbolt parts!

It's molded as part of the bumper...which is cast steel.

Any luck on finding one of those notches??

Posted by: Jarhead46

Ya I found just that one for $110

Posted by: Mustang5L5

Not to rub it in, but i took a few pics of mine. The last pic shows why these things are so hard to find.

The two SVO's i have are even rarer...one of 1500 made for each. Those 3 stay in the boxes now. I don't keep them out. Little cousins come over and like to grab

Posted by: Jarhead46

Now heres what you need to look for to see if its a really good diecast, you need to see if it has a "penis" light. Right above the center rear view mirror there should be a light that looks like a penis. My 88 had it and I'm pretty sure 87 does, I know Johnnys car has one.

Posted by: Mustang5L5

Negative. No penis.

My '88 does not have a maplight, but I think it's because it's a sunroof car and the interior dome light is where the map light would be.

I wonder if the newer GMP stuff is better than the 1st gen stuff? I'm searching for a teal '93 Cobra to buy from them. I love that color

Thats the color I want also for the 93 cobra I actually found one on ebay for $89 with free shipping. you should come to Taunton with me and Ed the next time we go youll be in your glorry there. I couldve easily spent $2000 there

Posted by: Mustang5L5

This one??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=005

I just bought one in Teal about 5 seconds ago.

That should hold me over til they come out with a black LX hatchback or Saleen

Posted by: Jarhead46

That would be the one I'll be getting mine in a few weeks, made a bet with Ed. He says my baby will be a girl I say boy. Loser has to buy the winner $100 diecast

Posted by: Mustang5L5

Ha nice

I wish they told you how many they made of each color. I have a thing for LOW production numbers. Even if it's 1500-2000 or so, low enough for me. I mean when you think about it, that's only about 40 per state. That's pretty low

Posted by: Jarhead46

The guy in Taunton said he sold out of all of his teal cobras very fast, he still had a few red and black ones but no teal. I really like the red one but I dont have any teal cars yet so I'll be getting that color as well, plus the 93 cobra R is red

Posted by: Mustang5L5

I just found the numbers

'93 Cobra
Black - 1000
Red - 1000
Teal - 1000
'R - 1000

'93 limited edition vert - 1750

'92 GT
red/silver - 1000
gray/silver - 1000

That's like 20 EACH state for each color

Posted by: Mustang5L5

I've seen this GT in red if you keep looking around. It's cheap

For only $70 Figure Ed will buy me the 93 cobra when he loses the bet and I'll buy this one. He even has the yellow 98 saleen, and my super stallion which I've never seen online

Posted by: Mustang5L5

Wow that's cheap. Do they even have any in stock??

Posted by: TorchRedSVT

if any of you guys find a 03 cobra 10th aniversary vert in torch red let me know. only cobra's i can find are silver and blue convertibles...never seen a 10th aniv. model anywhere.

this thread is great though, if i ever decide to start a model collection i konw right where to go

Posted by: Jarhead46

In all of my searching I've yet to see a 10th anviversary cobra, so pretty good chance they dont make them yet. I think this is torch red.

http://cgi.ebay.com/2003-FORD-MUSTAN...QQcmdZViewItem

Posted by: TorchRedSVT

that's awesome!! I have a 1:24th scale 99 GT vert in performance red on my desk at work.

Posted by: Pony-Up

I have a lot, and I mean a lot of diecast cars (100,000?) and amongst the many Mustangs (around 10,000) I've yet to see a 10th anniversary convertible.

Posted by: gilmar4

Agreed... I have a few less than you, however I have never seen one either.

When you say 100,000 I'm assuming your talking about matchbox size 1/64 scale. How many 1/18 scale do you have.

Well, just got confirmation my teal '93 cobra was shipped today. Can't wait!!

I'm sure it wouldnt be hard for me and Ed to talk you into it

Posted by: Mustang5L5

Speaking of Ed i have a wonderful girl i can set him up with. She's kinda pissed at me. I don't know why? All i did was go to the mall??

Posted by: awwyea

I have a good number of diecast cars already, but they are all Mopars, NASCAR and NHRA/IHRA ones. This is only my third Mustang diecast. But it's the best because it matches my Cobra !!! That is sooo freakin awesome. Jimm had it custom painted since they don't make one in a coupe in Sonic Blue.

I wasn't aware that you could harvest parts off of other cars and make a car more complete to match your own. I would have never thought to take one of these apart. I would be too afraid of breaking it. Hell, taking this one out of the packaging about gave me heart failure. I have kept all the boxes my diecast cars came in. I have boxes of empty boxes...

My collection is primarily mustangs (I have all those cataloged, pictured and documented). It contains roughly 5500 variations with approximately 10,000 Mustangs total. I have nearly all in original packaging and one loose to display. I have original mint cars dating back to the 60's. Everything you touched as a kid to what you get in the chain stores today. I have many proto-type, toy show, signed and special edition cars and even one off customs. Include with multipak's and the such and the collection exceeds 100,000 cars (estimate). About 80% are ~1/64 scale. I have micros, slot cars, 1/43 and a couple dozen 1/18. I'd like to collect the larger scales but space consumption became an issue. Someday I'll be able to show and display much of it (working on it!).

Posted by: Jarhead46

Thats pretty impressive, I'll have to check it out sometime.

Ok see if anyone can find one of these for sale.

http://www.autoartmodels.com/pages/1_18/18index.htm

Ahh crap it wont bring me to the page I want, click on 1:18 saleen, trying to find one of those 98 Saleens

Posted by: Mustang5L5

AutoART makes some damn nice models too

How bout this

1HP, aftermarket head and exhaust, 2-speed automatic tranny, crossdrilled disk brake with aftermarket pads, sway bars, performance shocks, 4WD (quickly changed to RWD or FWD if desired)...weighs 3 pounds......

Talk about fun to drive. I've been meaning to take it to a cruise and rip it around the parking lot. I have no gas or batteries for it for tomorrow though

Total investment in the car, accessories, hop-ups, etc.....$800

Posted by: Jarhead46

800 I'll stick with my diecast, Just lost an auction on ebay for that street heat one. went for $52. I'm looking foward to see how you talked your way out of your mall incodent as well

I want to buy the GMP 1:18 trailer, and then get a nice truck and set it up with the cobra to have the truck pulling the rig. Maybe i'll get a harley davidson truck or a lightning.

Then i'll get a long display case and set it all up somewhere in my house.

Where is that store in Taunton?? I'm down for a ride soon to see what they have

Posted by: Jarhead46

Funny you said that I was just online looking for something to tow the trailer with. What time you usually get out of work?

Ya the car is pretty nice even has two NOS bottles in the trunk.

You can find them on ebay heres the next one I'm buying. http://cgi.ebay.com/1985-FORD-MUSTAN...QQcmdZViewItem

you just have to be patient though, and you can get them for much cheaper that what they sell for. I got the GT for $51 normally $100 and the LX street heat for $46 normally $100. They even sell a drag strip diorama which I'm trying to get also. This whole thread is diecast so if you go back and start from the begining you can find some pretty cool cars, although some were ebay so the auction is probably over now.

Posted by: Jarhead46

Heres 3 out of the 4 drag cars they make, the fourth is a red 88 notch I've yet to find it for sale though.

Post whore..

BTW: Looky What I got today.. very vary Rare,

Story on this figure is :

Character Profile: The first apearane of Boba Fett was in an animation short in the Star Wars Holiday Special, whose first and only televised airing was on November 17, 1978. In the cartoon, Fett's clothing and armor are brighter, more colorful, and much less battle-worn than how they will appear in The Empire Strikes Back. While he still wears his jet backpack, he carries a twin-pronged weapon instead of his now-trademark blaster.
Comments: Friend or foe? Boba Fett helps Chewie find a cure for the sleeping sickness that has infected Han and Luke, but he also tells Darth Vader of the Rebels’ location. The droids intercept his message and tell the Rebels, but Fett escapes, promising that they will meet again.

They only make the yellow one. They don't have the red or white one yet

ED, is the yellow vert a 5-spd or Automatic??? I just noticed the '89 GT convertibles are both AOD cars. Kinda cool they made one an automatic. I'm gonna be searching for a red '89 'vert

They are supposed to have a red one, unless someone painted their yellow one and tried to sell it????

Mine is a 5-speed

Posted by: Mustang5L5

No red one...Yellow only for the LE cars

Posted by: Jarhead46

Who has an SA-10 diecast? As far as I know there hasn't been one made.

My collection consists of: GMP 1993 Mustang Cobra (Black, Red, and Teal), GMP 1993 Cobra R, GMP 1992 Mustang GT (Red and Grey), Both AutoArt Grand Am Cup Mustang (05 Signed by both Scott Maxwell and David Empringham), GMP 1987 Street Heat, GMP 1985 Mustang GT, GMP 1986 SVO, GMP 1985 Mustang GT Twister II, GMP California Highway Patrol, 2 Welly/GMP 1969 Trans Am Mustangs (#1, Australian #9 Allan Moffat Coca Cola Won 101 of 157 Races in it's career), Classica Carlectables FPV Mark II GT Sedan and Classic Carlectables 2005 Russel Ingall's Stone Brothers Racing BA Falcon Championship Winner. Sorry for not having any pics.

Posted by: Mustang5L5

Ed does, but i think it was an SA-20, not an SA-10.

If anyone was to make one, it would be GMP, but they haven't...yet

Hazaah!! My diecast collection begins!! Got the Bullitt in yesterday. So many Bullitt inaccuracies, but it actually matches my mods with the exception of the painted mirrors, and it has the correct gas cap. Oh, and for some reason, it has an '01 Cobra motor in it (or at least the heads).

I f'd up two good jobs over office romances, don't do it. One chick had a boyfriend that she neglected to mention and I think he's the one who keyed my Jeep!!!

Posted by: Mustang5L5

I'm not really into the older chick thing anyway. Sure it's fun for a one-time thing but that's it. The girl i've been kinda seeing is 24

Seeing I'm 40ish I could use me a 37 year old Hottie and since I dont work with her like you do I think you should send her my way!!! .. only if she is single though!!

ED is right about the inter-office romances... Been there done that,, very very bad idea... quite uncomforatble at times especially when things dont work out....

Dont forget I work right up the street!!!

Posted by: Dark_Cobra

ooh.. Look what I got. .. Hijack

I can usually never find an open one for sale at collection stores and here's why...

Some freak that legally changed his name to "Darth Maul" is known to buy only these figures just to hack thier heads off, reattach them to jedi bodies, and then resell them as bossk jedi's or some other character .. Friggin SW obsessed nerd's

So, I guess I actually rescued this one from "Darth Maul" .. Shcweet..

LOL

And now I just need 4-Lom to complete the set above the Entertainment center...

Posted by: LILBLKSNAKE

DC-
Is there anyway to find out what Star Wars stuff is actually worth?? I have the whole collection of figures from Episode 1 all still in packages- MINT!!

Posted by: Dark_Cobra

The place I go to has a price book.. I don't know who publishes it.
