When I went to shift to 2nd, I was stuck. The stick wiggles around but I am stuck in 1st gear. A little background... recently I noticed I would have diffculty getting into a gear would reclutch and then would get into a gear. I either had problems with 1st and 2nd or 3rd and 4th at any particular time, related? What do I need to do to fix my current problem and make it possible to shift again? Posted by: SOHCman Sorry, thought the C4 was an automatic. Had a similar problem with a C6 auto, transmission kick-down lever bracket broke forcing down the rod. (5000+RPM at WOT in first gear with a 390 Marauder was not fun!) Sounds like a bad clutch to me, but I'm no expert on standards. Good luck, hopefully someone can give you more info soon! SOHC Posted by: Aussie XAXB C-4 is an automatic, 3 speed. It sounds like you have a bent or broken rod in your tranny, or perhaps in your shifter. Crawl under and see if anything looks bent. If not under your car then it could be a bent rod in your trans that moves the synchros. Steve Posted by: Qcodegt if the car is a standard try getting under the car pull all the rods back to the nuetral pos i use to have this prbl happens a lot when the shifter bushings get worn it tries to go into 2 gears at once and binds the linkage up Ford Mustang Archive Home | General Tech | 5.0 Mustang Tech | 4.6 Mustang Tech | 3.8 Mustang Tech | 2.3 Mustang Tech | Classic Mustang Tech | Appearance and Sound | Virtual Body Shop | Initiation | The Lounge | The Showroom | Site Suggestions | Mustang Talk | 2005 Ford Mustang | Ford Lightning | Racers Bench | For Sale | Wanted To Buy | Northeast | SouthEast | Central | MidWest | West Coast | NEBOC
