Mequires OR Turtle Wax ICE?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Has anyone ever used any of the Turtle Wax Ice Products? I just read a review on another website and I think I may change from Mequires to Turtle Wax Ice. I'm currently using Meguires NXT Tech Wax.

They say their wax has ZERO powdery residue after waxing and it comes off very easy with very minimal work. It does not dry like paste wax, so if you don't get all of the wax off it will not be noticable.

I believe this is the same stuff hubby got to use on his truck. I'll have to check to be sure but if so, they don't lie. It goes on and comes off easily and looks great! I'll try to remember to ask him this afternoon.

They also have a product called "liquid clay bar" Im interested in trying THAT !

If I wasnt so busy working on the home in the next few weeks, I would give it a shot.

The ICE is ok for quick in between waxing....but
I don't like it for a real wax job. It just doesn't
bite down deep well....I feel like I am just using a detail cleaner.

The NXT...LOOKS great...but doesn't last more then a couple days.
Makes dark cars look incredible.

Gold Class is still very good....probably my favorite.

I just tried Eagle One Nano...similiar to NXT, works as well as it too.

I used to use NU Finish...and it lasted, but the white residue is annoying.

The absolute BEST thing for a show quality shine is a (at least) 2 stage process. First, one of the new-style polymer type finishes for longevity (I use Klasse All-in-one) followed by a coat or two of a pure carnuba wax (I use P21S)

The polymer gives you shine and long lasting protection, while the Caurnuba gives you depth and richness. (But doesn't last very long.)

Read this: The Perfect Shine
This guy has a great process -- he's obviously selling his products, but the process as he describes it can be used with any similar products. Read his other articles too -- he knows his stuff.

Edit -- I did this to my car today. Big car show tomorrow. Here's a couple of pics the show how deep the shine is. I used the bottles to show the reflection depth in the finish. Remember -- this car is 5 years old and for most of its life was a daily driver.

Very nice shine!!

I don't think I'm going the Turtle Wax route... I've read dozens of responces of how it turns yellow I guess if it sits for a few months.

I used that stuff on my winter beater.
The car was sitting for a year and a half. I washed it with a power washer and some Simple Green, then I used the Turtle Wax Ice stuff.
You shoulda seen how shiny it was!
Plus, you can use that stuff on all the black stuff on your car as well.

Rick the Ice is'nt too bad.Very easy to use and leave's a very nice shine.I did'nt like the detailer of it though.

Rick, something else to look into http://www.poorboysworld.com/index.html

A few of hubby's L friends use this on their trucks and they look AMAZING!! I'm hoping to give it a shot on my car when we're able to place an order.

Ice Good Quick Shine For This Crip

I've been a Meguires guy for years. I usually do a 3-step process: Meguires NXT followed by Meguires Show Car Glaze and lastly, Meguires Carnuba Wax.

I use a random-orbit buffer and that really brings the shine out

Meguires fan here also.... Used to use gold class now I'm in love with the NXT stuff.......
