What do you all use for tire dressing?

I may or may not be changing my tire dressing this summer. Currently I'm using Meguiars NXT tire shine and I'm having to reapply this NXT shine at car shows about 4-5 times because it seems to evaporate. When also applying the spray, it coats the entire side of my car and the car next to me with little dotts from where the spray has travled.
Last year I saw a lady how had some kind of a liquid paste substance in a jar and she was applying by a brush. The shine looked 10X better than the stuff I'm using, but I wasn't sure what it was called.
Anyhow, I'm looking for suggestions on something that will keep the shine throughout the entire car show and something that isn't messy and will apply without spraying.

Meguiars hot shine tire shine. I apply it with a applicator and let it dry. It lasts for some time and doesn't really fling onto my fenders

I've never had any problems with NXT, but I'm not a big person on high gloss tires either. I just recently tried Stoner's More Shine, and it seems to work pretty well. But again, it has about the same finish as Meguiar's (not real high gloss).

Don't get me wrong, Meguiars has a very nice shine, if applied thick. In order to get that high shine you have to spray directly onto the tires. I recently have been spraying to a towel and applying to the tires so the shine isn't as good because with our without wind the tire spray will travel and caot the entire side of my car which really stinks lol.

I use Meg's Hot Shine too. Lasts fine for me. It also has the added benefit of working very well on all black plastic trim. Lasts much better than Armor-all, etc., with no streaking.
And get this -- for shits'n'giggles last year, I wiped some onto a couple oxidized aluminum parts under my hood. It turned them from the nasty powdery white-grey, to a nice even gunmetal grey. AND IT KEPT THEM FROM OXIDIZING FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!
Amazing stuff.

I'm going to have to try that with my NXT tire shine or my NXT interior shine (I use that stuff under my hood on the black plastic trim to get a deap shine lol) So you do stuff like the alternator?

I used it on the intake/plenum. This year, I'll be using it on all the aluninum I can get to..... Including the alternator.
Apply it with a rag or brush, I don't think I'd spray it directly onto the alternator...

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try this weekend to see how it looks. I've been trying to find a way to get all of that aluminum to look a little nicer for the local shows.

I use Meguiars Endurance gel, it's the best and longest-lasting stuff I've found. I also have the Hot Shine stuff that 5L5 was talking about for when I feel lazy and want to just spray it on. It's not as good but it's good enough.

Very old school.......Bleach-White spray.
I really do not care for plastic or wet looking shiny tires. Tires are made of rubber and should look like rubber, to my old fogie mindset. Bleach-White makes them look like they just came out of the tire rack, nice and new/clean. This makes the car look like one that is driven and enjoyed instead of a sterile show car like the ones with chromed rotors, calipers, and spindles.
Yeah.......I'm old school.

I'm the same way. So I'll only use the stuff on my tires every several weeks. And I'll usually apply it BEFORE washing th car. That way it knocks down the shine and makes the tires look just clean.

I clean with Bleach White too

Wow, I am surprised I am not the only one.

I'm not sure how it's going to look... I did apply it in a dark garage so that could be the reason. When I applied the my tire dressing, it made the entire piece dark, but the light silver spots in the aluminum became very visible.
This could just be because it isn't outside, I'll have to work with it next friday when I wash my car before the large car show at Summit Racing Saturday.

Hmmmm... "light silver spots" -- you mean the oxidation, or do you have discolored areas on your aluminum? On mine, I "scrubbed" it a bit with the rag to get the aluminum oxidation to fade, but the color of the aulminum was pretty even. I'll be doing my Mustang this week for the big Father's Day show next weekend. I'll take some pics and send 'em to you for comparison.

I'm not to sure what it is... I did scrub it a little, but when the direct sun hit the area that I scrubed it almost looked "dirty" because of the spots. Hopefully next year a lot of that will be polished though.
