Since then I trouble shot to the point to where I have brakes sometimes and other times i have to pump to stop. This is what my set up looks like. I have the stock 72 booster conected to an 87 Lincoln master (which was what gave me any brakes at all.)From there i have the rear brakes conected strait to a Baer ajustable valve and the front brakes running to the stock 72 valve. I last blocked of the holes in the stock valve that went to the rear brakes. I didnt know if that will help or not. What i couldnt figure out is that when I pump my brakes while bleeding them when i pop open the top of the master to check fluid levels brake fluid is shooting up like a fountain for the front brakes. I had this problem with front and back until i installed the new master last night. My only though is that there might be an issue with the stock 72 rod in the master. Has anyone seen this or does it sound like im headed in the right direction? Posted by: Xerxeese Quote:
WOW. When bleeding, did you get ALL the air out ? The versailles rear end has disc brakes, yes ? Here's what I would do. Get the rod from the versailles, as well as the booster AND the proportioning valve. I think the problem lies in the mixing of parts. Anyone else have this thought ? Posted by: klillico The big problem in lies in finding the versailles proportioning valve. Cant find it at the auto parts store and good luck in the yard. Posted by: badass98svt Are you sure all the lines are air tight? Posted by: Aussie XAXB All the lines being air tight is a significant concern. Good one. Also, having two proportioning valves puts up a flag for me. As far as getting THE Versailles valve, it is not necessary. There are plenty of proportioning valves on the market for front and rear disc brake set ups. If MCR Parts is unable to provide a valve that you can use (check in with Tony) go to www.piratejack.net for a selection of valves. You need to have one proportioning valve that is designed for front and rear discs as discs require much more pressure than drums. I recommend a combination valve (proportioning valve and distribution block all-in-one) for ease of installation. Your original proportioning valve should be totally out of the picture. Are you sure you are not mistaking a junction block for a proportioning valve? Good luck, Steve Posted by: fredfordguy This has nothing to do with brakes, but I like your Aussie hot rod..... Posted by: Aussie XAXB Thanks. It's going to be a Mad Max Interceptor when it grows up.
