Iran to America: Attack and You Will Pay Forever

Iran's defense minister reportedly warned the U.S. that if it attacks, Tehran is ready to teach Americans a lesson that will make them "repent forever."

Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar, quoted Tuesday in an interview with the Algerian News Network, charged that U.S. troop presence in the region creates "crisis" and "insecurity" in the region, and called for the removal of American presence in the region.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) carried the defense minister's remarks on its Web site.

Iran is "fully prepared to teach a lesson to possible aggressors," Mohammad-Najjar said.

There is no good gonna come from Americans being over there .. All Bush is doing is making more enemies and trying to start WW3.. When we first went over there yes I thought it was right. Now it's time to get the hell out of there and let Iraq act on it's on, quit putting our nose in other countries business, and get the troops out!!!!

Interesting how Iran is attempting to turn the perception on this. I thought that the Iranian funded insurgents that cross into Iraq from Iran and Syria were causing the instability, or at least a major portion of it, in Iraq. Also I thought Iranian financed and supplied Hesbola also is causing the problems in Lebanon. If these insurgents were not funded and aided by Iran a lot of the battles going on, as well as strategic attacts to influence factional responses, would stop. There is enough dispute between Shiites and Sunnies without the insurgents stirring the pot.

I would also like to see our troops pulled out of there, but what would happen then? It's easy to say that it is fine if the indigenous people fight, that is their problem, but between Sunnies and Shiites, if that issue does not get resolved before the US leaves they will fight until one or the other wins and then take repressive, dictatoral-like control of the country instead of all people of the country being represented. And this will only happen if the insurgents don't take control of Iraq FIRST. If they do we will be no better off with terrorism than we are now. Also this would be viewed as a victory for the terrorists/insurgents and would provide more confidence for them in their jihad against us.

I know many will disagree with my views, and we can't all have the same, so I am fine with that. However, think about this and please include it in your response if you do.....

If the US pulls out today and all our soldiers are home and out of harm's way, after this consideration what will be the best outcome of this action back in Iraq and it's positive affect on the US? What will be our situation in 5-10 years?

Didn't Saddam say the same crap back in 1990??

The whole "mother of all battles is upon us" speech?

Yeah, that didn't work out too great for him in the long run.

Iran scares me, but the fact of the matter is it's citizens don't share the same views as it's leader does.
