It's a simple solution to help with the 1-post wonders in our general tech section. Put a restriction on posting links for like the first 5 posts, that way none of our members will be affected.

Actually I'm taking care of this right this moment. They all are comming from one IP address... I'm getting ready to ban that IP address.
After I ban that... I'm going to use image verification upon registration. The spam is comming from a robot... not an actual human. The image verification will stop all robots from signing up to post.
I'll also do what you suggested
Hopefully with all 3 things combined... we will have a spam free forum
